I transferred from Georgetown to USC in the fall of 2015, with the sole purpose of walking on to their Beach Volleyball team. This was an incredibly daunting task at the time, but one that I am so unbelievably happy I took the leap of faith for — my life changed forever when I joined that team.

During my four years at USC, we won three PAC12 Championships and two NCAA National Championships. My first year on the team I played at the sixth spot, where I learned and gained experience, but wasn’t a part of the top five starting line-up.

My second year (junior year) I broke into the starting line-up and played at the 3’s position with Nicolette Arnitz. That was an incredibly memorable year because I got to score the winning point for our team to win the 2017 NCAA National Championship. In that moment, when we won and were immediately attacked by the rest of our teammates, I knew this was a feeling I would be chasing forever.

For both my senior and graduate year (I stayed an extra year to play and earn my Masters in Accounting), I played at the 2’s spot alongside Sammy Slater. I was voted team captain both years. Again, I was blessed with the opportunity to score the game winning point for our team, but this time in a PAC12 Championship match. Another incredibly special moment that keeps me coming back for more and more beach volleyball.

The friends that I made through my years will be my friends for a lifetime. I still keep in touch with them. We still reminisce about our days together on the team. I learned so much and grew into a completely different athlete because of my time at USC, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Fight On!
